Error analysis in reading for elementary school students. The purpose of this study was to investigate the teachers`` perception on the various aspects of reading error. 322 elementary teachers participated in the study. Frequency, correlations, and exploratory factor analysis, based on the teachers`` responses. were used to analyze the reading error types. First, the prevalence of the errors in word decoding was estimated and the degree of significance was rated. Second. the prevalence of errors in comprehension was estimated and the degree of significance was rated. Third. the relationship between the reading errors and the reading stages of reading was investigated. Fourth, grouping the various reading errors. based on the factor analysis. resulted in the hierarchy in the reading errors. The implications were provided in terms of the diagnosis and intervention of students with reading disabilities.
