글로벌 생산네트워크와 지역기업의 기술혁신 = Global Production Networks and Innovation of Local Business

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We compare the innovation performance of Pusan, Kyungnam local businesses joined in global production networks with that of genuine local firms through econometric analysis.
Main results are following: first, the efficiency in product innovation of local business joined in global production networks depends more on technology cooperation with vertically connected firms, whereas that of genuine local firms depends more on horizontal technology cooperation. Second, the impact of technology cooperation within a region does matter more with globally connected firms. Lastly, participation in global production networks and regional cooperation at the same time accelerates th effectiveness of firm's technology innovation.
These results imply that hypotheses for GPN(Global Production Networks) are generally supported. Thus, for this Pusan, Kyungnam area, both vertical cooperation between global downstream firms and local suppliers and regional innovation system for horizontal cooperation among local business are essential.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 글로벌 대기업이 주도하는 생산네트워크에 참가하는 지역기업과 그렇지 않은 기업의 기술협력활동을 비교하여 글로벌 생산네트워크가 혁신성과에 미치는 영향을 실증분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째 글로벌 생산네트워크에 참가하는 기업은 고객업체와의 수직적 기술협력이, 이에 참가하지 않는 기업은 동종업체와의 수평적 기술협력이 제품혁신에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 글로벌 생산네트워크에 참가하는 기업은 지역 내 기술협력이 중요한 반면, 그렇지 않은 기업은 기술협력의 공간적 특성이 특별한 의미를 갖지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 글로벌 생산네트워크에 참가하면서 동시에 역내 기술협력활동을 수행하는 경우 혁신성과가 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. 분석의 결과는 글로벌 생산네트워크론을 지지하며, 따라서 글로벌 대기업과의 긴밀한 협력관계를 맺고 있는 동남권 산업에서는 글로벌 대기업과 지역공급업체 사이의 수직적 협력네트워크와 이를 지원하는 지역 내 산학연 협력체제를 동시에 구축하는 것이 필요하다는 시사점을 얻고 있다.
