서신성(舒新城)의 중국교육 근대화론

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study is try to find some implications on Korean education through investigating the modernization of Chinese education posed by Shu Xin Cheng. Results of this study are as follows: First, Modernization of Chinese education at that time recognized by Shu Xin Cheng was a formally simple imitation about the western education by outer stimulus, however such kind of pattern in education brought conflicts with traditional pattern in education because of adjustment difficulties with agricultural society of China at that time. Second, He tried to applied a new way for modernization of Chinese education, which was named Dalton Plan in 1922. However he turn over to as a scholar who studying the history of education. Further more he was going to reflect intensively the results of new education approach, reason of it's failure. Thirds, analysing his works, his final purpose of works was how the causal relation consisted between failure and success of modern Chinese education and also try to find the way to develop the modern education. Actually based upon those, he presented various way for the Chinese modernization of education., so to speak, various kinds way for the popularization of education: applying the broadcasting mechanism in each area, establishment of library, science hall, gymnasium for the guidance of learning. Finally, how his theory of modernization of Chinese education could be implicated upon the Korean education are as follows: Development of historical primary sources about modern education in Korea, Reflecting upon the view point on education and responsibility of scholars who study on the history of education, Reflecting on the critical and openness attitudes toward interchanging the educational cultures with foreign education.
