맥락적 공간개념을 적용한 전시디자인 사례 연구 - 원광대학교박물관 ‘무속실’ 개편을 중심으로 - = A case study of exhibition design, applying the contextual spatial concept - Focusing on the reorganization of the ‘shaman room’ of the Wonkwang University -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

전시디자인의 궁극적인 목적은 전시품과 관람자간에 교감의장을 제공하여 최적의 감상을 가능하게 하며 이를 통해 전시가 가진 정보나 메시지를 충분히 전달할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 이와 같은 전시디자인의 역할과 방법론에 대한 지속적인 연구가 요구되는데 본 연구는 맥락적 공간개념을 적용, 최근 개선을 진행한 대학박물관 사례를 통해 전시디자인 방법론을 고찰해보고자 하였다. ‘맥락적(contextual)'이란 용어는 하나의 정보나 대상이 총체적으로 이해되거나 설명되는 상황을 이르는데 이 개념은 전시흐름으로서의 맥락, 콘텐츠적 맥락, 색채·조형적 맥락이라는 세 가지 관점에서 공간화가 가능하였다. 이렇게 디자인된 전시공간은 개선전의 단순한 유물나열식 전시보다 전시의 메시지 및 콘텐츠의 표현이 풍부해짐을 확인 할 수 있었으며 전시주제와 연결하여 일관된 톤을 유지함으로서 감성적 커뮤니케이션을 지원하고 관람의 몰입분위기를 조성함을 확인 할 수 있었다.

If the ultimate goal of exhibition design is to enable the optimal appreciation, by providing a place of consensus between the exhibition and the spectator, through which the information or message of the exhibition is delivered fully, constant research about the role and methodology of the exhibition design is on demand. this perspective, this study examined the role and utility of design for the museum exhibition, through the case study of an university museum exhibition, which recently employed the contextual spatial concept for its improvement. The spatial application of contextualization concept was possible in three ways: the context of exhibition flow, the context of the content, and the context of color and formative. The exhibition place where such ways are evenly applied appeared to have more plentiful expression of contents and message of the exhibition than previous simple relics-focused exhibitions. Moreover, by keeping the consistently contextualized tone in line with the theme of exhibition, it supported emotional communication, as well as forming immersive atmosphere for watching.
