In this study, the making techniques of the Stone-seated Bodhisattva of Daewonjeongsa temple were multidirectionally interpreted through material analysis and non-destructive investigation, and the meaning of materials was considered. Summarizing the results of scientific analysis, the stone Buddha’s constituent material is rhyolitic rock, and it is showed to be zeolite by alteration of aluminum silicate minerals. When synthesizing the distribution of mineral deposits in Korea and ancient literature, the origin of zeolite is estimated to be around Mt. Hamwol and Mt. Cheontae in Gyeongju. As a result of gamma ray transmission, cracks occurred in the entire coronal area and the left side of the head, and there are semicircular excavated hole slightly biased to the right side inside the body. In the future, if there are more cases of analyzing Buddha statues made of zeolite and various scientific interpretations are advanced, it is thought that the making location and distribution channels of the Buddha statues made of zeolite scattered across the country will be subdivided.
