이바라기 노리코의 戀歌 = 유작시집『세월』을 중심으로

Saigetsu, a collection of Ibaragi Norikos Love Songs was published a year after the death of the poetess. Ibaragi Noriko(1926-2006) who is widely known as the poet of When I was Most Beautiful, June and Your Own Sensitivity, At Least wrote poems about war, nation, language and communication in simple and refined Japanese. She is regarded as a representative postwar Japanese poet, and her positive and vivacious poems gave much hope and courage to the readers.
Unlike most Japanese woman writers, Ibaragi rarely wrote poems on love and nature. After the death of her husband, she wrote a series of poems lamenting his death but she refused to publish them in her lifetime. This paper is a study on Ibargis Love Songs collected in Saigetsu (2007). The 39 poems in this collection reveal Ibaragis constant love and longings for her bereaved husband. Ibaragis husband who was a medical doctor showed understanding towards his wifes activity as a poet. Ibaragis respect and love for her husband was so deep that when he died at the age of 57, she wrote that she cried like a tiger and even thought of following him. The passionate and moving love poems show us a very different aspect of the poet. This paper mainly focuses on The Only Person Two Cooks Spring Occupied Playing in Dreams Night Garden and I have to Hurry. A study on these poems is sure to throw a new light on the inner and human aspect of the poet.
