A characteristic mode analysis for electromagnetic radiation through finite periodic circumferential slotsin a dielectric-filled coaxial waveguide is considered. From knowledge of characteristic values, the characteristic mode solutions of interest such as characteristic currents, far field patterns are computed.
In order to check the validity of the present analysis method, the equivalent magnetic current and the radiation pattern are compared with those obtained by use of the point-matching method. Good correspondence between them is observed.
