미얀마인 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어와 미얀마어 자음 대조 연구 = A Comparative Analysis on the Consonants of Korean and Myanmar for the Korean Learners of Myanmar

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study aims at analyzing similarity and dissimilarity of the consonants of Korean and Myanmar, predicting the degree of difficulty of Korean learners of Myanmar, and providing useful tips for teaching Korean consonants to Korean learners of Myanmar. The study first decides the list of the consonants of Myanmar and comparatively describes the place and the manner of articulation of Korean and Myanmar consonants across the types of the consonants. Myanmar consonants have the similar counterpart of the most Korean consonants including three-member bundle stops. In terms of the degree of the difference, nasals, aspirated stops and affricates, and tensed stops and sibilants are most similar groups to the counterparts of the Myanmar, and laterals, soft stops and sibilants are comparatively less similar with the Myanmar counterparts. Korean learners of Myanmar have little difficulty in pronouncing most Korean consonants simply transferring their L1. The less similar consonants, however, may sound not wrong but just accented to Koreans.
