Sheila Fitzpatrick, one of the most famous historians, is still active in the study of Russian history in USA. She can be categorized as the second generation revisionist historian in the study of Stalinism. Above all, she has contributed to extend the prospect of Russian history through her inquiries into the history of everyday life. When the traditional school and revisionists came to a stalemate without finding a way forward for soviet studies after the collapse of Soviet Union, Fitzpatrick played a role in overcoming the critical moment which the Russian history faced.
