: The purpose of this study is to comprehend the current status of mattress technology through research on the type, structure, and materials of mattresses by classifying mattresses depending on the presence of a heating function. Mattresses without heating functions include spring mattresses, latex mattresses, memory foam mattresses, and palm mattresses, while those with heat functions include stone bed mattresses, soil bed mattresses, charcoal bed mattresses, and heat pipes. Spring mattress has shaking, sagging, and noise. Also, it is difficult to keep clean but comfortable. Latex mattress is vulnerable to heat, lacks ventilation, and has hardening effect. Also, it is difficult to keep clean but it has excellent antibacterial and resilience. Memory foam mattress lacks ventilation and smells unpleasant. Also, it is difficult to keep clean but it has excellent cushioning and resilience. Palm mattress is difficult to keep clean and falls crumb easily. It is heavy and hard but it has excellent antibacterial and ventilation. Stone beds, soil beds, and charcoal bed mattresses are heavy and hard, and difficult to move or scrap. But they are thermal, easy to keep clean, cool in summer. Heat pipe is heavy and hard, and difficult to move or scrap. But it is thermal, easy to keep clean.
