김대중 정부의 대북정책에 대한 비판적 해석 남남갈등의 쟁점을 중심으로 = A Critical Abroach to Kim Dae Jung Administration’s North Korea Policy

Both South and North Korea have to minimize the waste of the national energy, rather to try to maximize it in pursue of survival and prosperity of Koreans. What can we do for this? To answer the question is we should not hesitate to continue taking the path of the reconciliation and cooperation between the two Koreas. Thus Sunshine Policy must be supported in the long term until it results out with success. Accordingly the Kim Dae Jung administration should figure out the best ways that keep long-term Sunshine Policy persisting, by taking other suggestions and criticism into consideration when policy decision making. The most serious and urgent matter is to get over the domestic conflicts of the perspectives toward the North Korea policy. Here are my suggestions to dissolve those conflicts as follows- first, forget about the unification itself, and it will work; second, take no advantages of the North Korea policy for the political purpose at home; third, promote Sunshine Policy as “moderate”; fourth, enhance the domestic economic strength; and finally, mutual existence within the South before mutual existence between South and North Korea.
