    In this research we analyze the home characteristics remaining in the memories of the residents which may provide useful tips for the design in the future. The targets of the survey are the university students near Seoul, Korea. We asked them to describe the space in their memories with their sentences, sketches and photos and we analyzed them. The results are as follows. First, their memories are focused upon the fragments in their homes rather than overall design or the size of the home. Their memories are focused upon the bedrooms and living rooms rather than other parts. Their memories are focused upon frequently used parts. Finally, almost of their memories are conditions and situations in the memorized spaces. Among them, feelings like atmosphere about the dwelling spaces are common elements according to their mental memories.
