The purpose of this research was to investigate the nurse’s knowledge and attitude toward fall events in the hospital. In order to find out the attitude and knowledge of nurses working in that hospital, the test items of fall knowledge and questionnaire were developed by researcher based on the literature review. The KR20 of knowledge test was 0.76 and the coefficient of Cronbach's Alpha of attitude questionnaire was 0.75. The score of knowledge on fall accident of nurses founded as 61.4 points of total 100 points and the score of attitude were quite high (3.8 of 5.0 Likert Scale). The nurses working in pediatric nursing unit and intensive care unit showed lower knowledge score than general ward. The novices (less than 1 year) and the experienced nurses (more than 3 years) had higher score of attitude than the nurses of 1-3 years experience. The findings of this study support the idea that for more active nursing intervention, more accurate knowledge and active attitude are necessary.
