      The objective of this study is to systematically review the economic evaluations of diagnosing dementia and to suggest appropriate economic model for diagnosing dementia. We focused on the methodological quality and features of decision models dealing with new technologies for diagnosing dementia. Ovid-MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, KoreaMed, KMBase, and KISS were searched for English or Korean language publications. Selected studies were assessed using the framework for quality assessment of decision-analytic models. Initially, 2,648 studies were identified and we finally selected 11 studies. Among the selected studies, there were 4 studies dealing with CT or MRI, 3 for dynamic susceptibility-weighted contrast-enhanced MRI and/or single photon emission computed tomography, 2 for FDG PET, 2 for amyloid PET, and 1 for biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid. In terms of the type of decision models, only 1 study used Bayesian decision tree, another one used discrete event simulation, and the others used decision tree models. The results of the quality assessment showed that most studies did not meet the criteria of the framework enough. Therefore future decision-analytic models for diagnosing dementia should be designed to describe the scope of model and the diagnostic options in detail and to evaluate uncertainty extensively.
