국문 초록 (Abstract)

평가를 교육의 한 과정이라고 보았을 때 학습 목적 및 목표, 교수·학습 과정 그리고 평가는 일관되게 이루어지게 된다. 사회과는 창의적 문제해결력을 갖춘 민주시민의 양성을 그 목표로 한다. 따라서 사회과 평가의 최종 목적 역시 창의적 문제해결력을 갖춘 민주시민에 관한 것이어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 학생의 실제적 문제해결 과정을 관찰할 수 있는 수행평가가 적합하며, 사회과 수행평가가 타당하게 교육현장에 적용되고 있는지는 이를 시행하는 주체인 교사의 인식을 파악함으로서 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 사회과 수행평가에 대해 초등학교 교사들이 가지고 있는 인식을 알아보기 위해 초등학교 교사 5명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview)를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서는 초등학교 교사들의 사회과 수행평가에 대한 인식과 문제점을 평가 인식·계획·실행 그리고 사회과 특성 관련 측면으로 정리하였다. 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 내용을 종합해 보았을 때 초등학교 교사들은 수행평가 시행의 필요성, 중요성에 대해서는 대부분 찬성하고 있으나, 수행평가의 본질을 살려 시행하기 위해서는 다양한 측면에서의 개선이 필요하다고 느끼고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

When we view assessments as a process in education, we make the goals of learning and the process of it consistent. Social studies has the goal of making our students more creative and better democratic citizens. Of course the ultimate purpose of social studies as a subject is to teach students to be more creative and democratic. The assessment is suitable for assessing the students, to which extent the teacher must also do well for the assessment to go well. Accordingly, the present research performed Focus Group Interview for 5 primary school teachers, in order to examine awareness primary school teachers have, in relation to performance assessment of social studies. When analyzing Focus Group Discussion, it has been identified that teachers recognized the problem of performance assessment of social studies in a respect relating to the awareness, plan and practice of performance assessment, and the characteristics of social studies. As a result of gathering interview contents up, it has been revealed that primary school teachers most agreed to the importance of the execution of performance assessment, but they also were aware of the necessity for improvement in varieties of methods to execute it making the essence of performance assessment.
