영적 게토주의를 극복하기 위한 영성의 해석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 영성의 보편성에 관한 연구이다. 하나님의 형상에 대한 이해는 영성 이해에 중요한 시금석을 제공한다. 본 연구는 하나님의 형 상은 구조적 차원과 기능적 차원 모두를 포함한다는 것을 강조한다. 창 조의 선물인 인간의 이성, 감성, 몸, 영성은 하나님의 형상의 구조적 차 원들이다. 따라서 창조의 선물로서 영성 이해는 중요하다. 하지만 대부 분의 영성 이해는 창조의 선물인 구조적 또는 존재론적 영성을 간과하 고 경험론적 영성과 신령한 성품으로써 영성을 이해하는 경향이 많다. 본 연구는 존재론적 영성에 대한 이해의 중요성을 강조한다. 이는 영성 의 보편성에 대한 이해를 촉발하기 때문이다. 보편적 영성의 증거로써 어린이 영성에 대한 임상적 연구 자료를 제 시한다. 영적 경험과 깨달음은 나이와 인지 발달에 의해 영향을 받는 특징이 있지만, 그것들에 종속되는 것은 아니라는 것을 논한다. 인간은 나이나 어떤 신비한 경험에 상관없이‘영적 잠재성’을 지니기 때문이 다. 또한 역사적으로 영성은 종교와 밀접히 연결되어 있지만, 영적 경 험이나 깨달음은 종교적 개념이나 영역에만 종속되는 것이 아니라 보 편적 일상의 영역 안에서도 체험될 수 있다는 것을 강조한다. 특히 영 적 체험의 장으로서 일상의 차원을 간과할 때 영적 게토주의(spiritual ghettoism)에 빠질 수 있다는 점을 밝힌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article is a study about universality of spirituality. Understanding of God’s image offers important criteria for understanding of spirituality. This study focuses that understanding of God’s image includes both structural and functional dimensions. As image of God is constituted with human reason, emotion, body and spirituality which are creative gifts from God, understanding spirituality as a creative gift is important. Most views, however, tend to understand spirituality as the experiential and the godly characters while overlooking structural or functional spirituality. This study discusses the importance of understanding about experiential spirituality, which is due to provoking understanding about universality of spirituality. Presenting empirical research data about children’s spirituality as evidence for universal spirituality, this article argues that spiritual experience and awakening is affected by ages and cognitive development, but not subordinated by them. Human beings have ‘spiritual potentiality’ no matter their ages and their experiences. It emphasizes that spiritual experience and awakening is not only subordinated to religious realm but is also experienced in the realm of daily life, while in history concept of spirituality has closely related with religion. This article rings an alarm Christians who can fall into spiritual ghettoism if daily dimension of spirituality as a place of spiritual experience is overlooked.
