2007 개정 교육과정에 의한 『즐거운 생활』 실험본 교과서 및 교사용 지도서의 국악 영역에 관한 분석 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

2007년 2월에 개정 고시된 7차 교육과정은 그 개정 배경과 기본방향에서 추구하는 교육적인 간상 중의 하나로 ‘우리 문화에 대한 이해의 토대 위에 새로운 가치를 창조하는 사람’을 기르는 것을 제시하고 있다. 또한 초등학교 교육목 표에서도 ‘우리의 전통문화 교육’을 강조하고, 개정 음악과 교육과정에서도 ‘국악학습내용 증대 및 체계화’를 주요 방향으로 제시할 만큼, 개정된 교육 과정은 강력한 우리 문화 우선교육 의지를 담고 있다. 따라서 이러한 교육과정 정신을 충실히 구현해야 할 즐거운 생활 교과서 역시 서양음악에 우선하여 국악을 가르칠 수 있도록 만들어지는 것 이 당연할 것이다. 그러나 이번에 만들어진 『즐거운 생활』 실험본 교과서와 지도서를 보면 그 내용에서 양악의 비중은 78%인데 반 해 국악의 비중은 22%로 나타났다. 이런 결과가 나온 이유는 실험본 교과서를 만들기 위한 연구진과 집필진들이 개 정 교육과정의 개발 방향을 제대로 이해하지 못했거나 의도적으로 무시했기 때문이라고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러 한 실험본 교과서의 잘못된 편찬을 지적 하였다. 개정 교과서에서는 실험본 교과서의 서양음악과 국악의 비율과 반 대로 오히려 국악이 78% 양악이 22%로 편성되어야 하지 않을까 판단된다. 실험본 교사용 지도서의 연구진과 집필 진들의 국악에 대한 지식을 의심케 하고 내용을 제대로 검토해 보았는가에 대한 성실성을 의심케 한다. 이런 실험본 교과서의 잘못된 편찬을 보완하여 개정 즐거운 생활 교과서와 교사용 지도서가 집필되도록 철저한 행정적ㆍ학문적 후속 연구와 조치가 요구된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

One of the aims of the Revised Curriculum of 2007, is to educate elementary students to become the people who can create new values on the basis of their understanding of Korean culture. This goal indicates that Korean music should be given priority over Western music in the textbook, 『Pleasant life』, However, Experimental textbook of 『Pleasant life』 contains a glaring contradiction: Western music takes up 78% of the textbook, while Korean music takes up only 22% of it. This suggests that the editors of the textbook either misunderstood or chose to betray the key goal of the revised curriculum of 2007. This study aims to highlight the contradiction of 『Pleasant life』, It argues that 78% of the textbook should be allotted for Korean music and 22% should be for Western music because this is the proportion of the credit hour of Korean Language to English language in elementary education curriculum, and there is no reason why the proportion of Korean music to Western music should be opposed. The study questions whether the textbook and the teacher's guide compilation committee were sufficiently knowledgeable about Korean music and completed the necessary research to properly revise the textbook. The study goes on to suggest that yet another version of 『Pleasant life』 and its accompanying teacher's guide be created that more carefully satisfies the goal of the revised curriculum of 2007. This will require thorough research by those involved in making the textbook, including administrators as well as scholars.
