      It is very important to inspect and diagnose power facilities on a regular basis because if electrical fault happens the economic damage is large. This paper studies a measurement of ultra-violet rays(UV) strength of corona discharges on power facility(polymer insulator) using a UV sensor with an optic lens. It was observed that the UV signal by corona discharge of polymer insulator was detected from over 60㎸. That was equivalent to around 37.5% of breakdown voltage. The output pulse rate of the UV sensor increased with increasing applied DC voltage and High Voltage. The longer the distance is, the less the amount of UV from polymer insulator.
