조선 초ㆍ중기 건축 실내 장식에 대한 앙미(昂尾)의 영향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 조선 초기 및 중기에 하앙의 앙미를 재현, 계승한 천장 장식이 존재했는지를 알아보는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 중국 건축에서 앙미가 어떤 방식으로 결구되고 장식되었는지 실제 건물 및 관영 건축서를 검토하여 조선시대 건축에서 앙미와 관련된 부재 및 장식을 찾아내기 위한 단서를 마련하였다. 그 결과 송대부터 속란방, 앙정 등의 수평재를 이용하여 앙미를 거는 의장이 존재하여 청대의 낙금조 유금두과까지 이어졌음을 알아내었고, 17세기의 실제 하앙 활용 사례인 완주 화암사 극락전의 예에서 이들과 공유하는 특징과 달라진 점을 검토하였다. 그리고 다포계에서 새롭게 유행한 강력한 내출목을 처리하는 과정이 하앙 변화와 쇠퇴 원인이었을 것으로 추정하였다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 이제까지 존재는 알려져 있었으나 기원이 불분명했던 몇몇 조선시대 건축기법들이 앙미 결구 및 장식의 변형에서 기원했음을 밝혔고 이를 앙미형 빗반자틀, 화설머리, 앙미형 운공으로 지칭할 것을 제안하였다. 이들 기법은 16세기 말에서 17세기 중후반에 현존 초기사례들이 나타났으며, 이는 조선 초기에 그 전단계, 즉 하앙 직접 활용의 쇠퇴와 앙미 의장의 변형 및 수용과정이 진행되었음을 보여준다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to define the influence of the shapes of angmi(angwei) or the interior parts of down-pointing cantilever arms of bracketing systems in East asian architecture, on the the ornaments of ceilings and interior gongpo in early and mid Joseon period. To reveal the relevance to Joseon ornament, angwei frameworks and decorations were investigated in extant Chinese traditional wood buildings and in the official architectural manuals of Northern Song and Qing dynasty; the survey also shows the clues of the identity of shuranfang and angting in Yingzaofashi. Comparison of Hwa'amsa Geungnakjeon, the only case of extant Joseon ha'ang structure with them shows the cause of changes and declines of Joseon ha'ang was the spreading of dense naechulmoks in dapo structures. With clues from Chinese angwei or tiaowo or chenggan and Joseon angmi, some ornaments and parts of ceilings and interior gongpos were proved to the transformation of the structures and ornaments of angmi, and new terms for them were proposed: angmi-shape bitbanjateul(sloped ceiling frames), hwaseolmeori(Xuexie-shape heads), angmi-shape ungong.
