‘틀리-’의 형용사 용법과 의미에 관한 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates the usage and meaning of ‘teulli-[different]’, in view of its incorrect use in many school grammars. The study bases its findings on dictionary and corpus data, the results of this research being as follows. Section 2, looks at the dictionary data and identifies four features in the different dictionaries studied. The first of these is that there is no mention of this paper’s topic in the 『sam-sung』 and 『joseon-mal』 dictionaries. Secondly, there is no special reference to this paper’s topic in the ?geum-seong? and 『han-geul』 dictionaries. Thirdly, the coverage of this paper’s topic in the 『yeon-se』 and 『phyo-jun』 dictionaries is incorrect. Lastly, only the 『korea-dai』 and 『yong-rye』 dictionaries make correct reference to this paper’s topic. Section 3 explores the usage of the adjective ‘teulli-[different]’ as extracted from corpus data. Section 4 then examines the usage and meaning of ‘teulli-[different]’ through applying four methods of investigation: ending combination test; degree adverbs modifying test; substitution test; and opposite test. These tests show that the cause of semantic divergence is the loss of relatedness to the meaning extension. In addition, the homonymy of ‘teulli-[different]’ is ignored, due to lingual consciousness and standard language policy. In conclusion, this paper finds that the adjective ‘teulli-[different]’ is taught incorrectly in school-grammars, but it is correct in terms of usage based model.
