Examining the Relationship between Perceptions of Constraint on Recreational Sport Participation and Gender among College Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

◈우리나라의 여성들은 여가시간에 스포츠에 참여하고 싶어도 여러 가지 제약 요인 때문에 참가하지 못하게 된다. 특히, 여자 대학생은 남자 대학생보다도 스포츠 참가하는데 제약을 경험하게 된다. Crawford, Jackson, 그리고 Godbey (1991)는 여가에 참가하는 데 인지하는 제약을 크게 내재적제약 (Intrapersonal constraints), 구조적제약 (Structural constraints), 인간상호간제약 (Interpersonal constraints)의 3가지 요인으로 분류하였다. 본 연구는 여자 대학생들이 레저스포츠에 참가하는데 있어 인지하는 참여 제약요인을 밝히고, 여자 대학생과 남자 대학생이 인지하는 제약요인의 차이점을 분석하는데 주 목적을 두었다. 편의표집방법 (Convenience Sampling Method)을 이용하여 대학생 350명에게 설문지를 배포하여 334부를 수거하였으며, 이중 부실한 답변을 제외한 295명의 자료만으로 분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구는 Crawford, Jackson, 그리고 Godbey의 여가제약모델 (1991)을 기초로 하여, 6개의 제약요인을 추출하였는바, 심리, 시간, 접근용이성, 안전, 파트너, 시설 하위요인으로 명명하였다. 이러한 6개 요인들은 내재적제약, 구조적제약 , 인간상호간제약 요인으로 구분될 수 있음을 제시하였다. 또한, 대학생들의 스포츠 및 여가 제약 요인을 분류하여, 남성과 여성 대학생들의 여가제약요인을 비교분석하였다. 본 연구는 대학생들이 여가스포츠 제약을 인지하는 다차원적 모델을 지지하였으며, 여자 대학생이 남자 대학생보다도 여가스포츠에 참가하는데 있어 제약을 많이 인지함을 보여주었다.
