삼국 신라 연령등급제의 연령과 속성

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연령등급제는 백성의 세역 부과 기준이자 일종의 과표로 기능하는 제도이다. 본 고에서는 삼국 신라 연령등급제의 구조ㆍ운영 방식을 해명하고, 삼국ㆍ통일신라 연령등급제의 계기적 발달과정을 모색하고자 하였다. 상고기 연령등급제는 아이(子ㆍ女)-어른(丁)-늙은이(公(翁)ㆍ母(嫗))의 3등급으 로 구축되며, 丁ㆍ非丁만 두고 半丁을 두지 않았다. 중고기 연령등급제는 丁의 국 역 부담 감축을 위해 아이의 일부가 半丁으로 분화하였다. 또 丁 내부 半丁인 어린 (幼․少) 丁ㆍ늙은(老) 丁이 壯丁과 구별되었다. 상고기 연령등급제의 丁ㆍ非丁 구조, 중고기 연령등급제의 半丁 구조․丁 내부 半丁의 운영 방식은 통일신라 연령등급제로 계승되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The age-grade system is a system that functions both as a standard for levying taxes on people and as a sort of taxation standard. This study is concerned with the structure and operational form of the age-grade system of Silla in the Three Kingdoms period. Furthermore, the study tries to grasp the developmental process of the system, which remained in place from the Three Kingdoms period to the Unified Silla period. During the Upper-Ancient period, the system consisted of three grades: children (male[子], female[女]), adults [jeong(丁)], and the elderly [gong(公) or ong(翁) which means old man and mo(母) or gu (嫗) which means old woman]. The system had the categories of jeong and non-jeong[非丁] but half-jeong[半丁]. In the Middle-Ancient period, some of the children were assigned to the half-jeong category to reduce the burden of statute labor on jeong. Besides, little[幼·少] jeong and old[老] jeong belonging to the category of inner half-jeong [丁 內部 半丁] were distinguished from young[壯] jeong. The Jeong and half-jeong structure of the Upper-Ancient period, and half-jeong structure and the inner half-jeong of jeong operational form of the Middle-Ancient period, were both inherited by Unified Silla.
