PURPOSE The main purpose of this study is to analyze and clarify the effects of BCI neurofeedback to improve brain function in the elderly and the prospects for senile dementia. METHOD From July 2019 to December 2019, 120 people were randomly selected from among the elderly attending the Senior Welfare Center located in I. J. T-dong, S city, and classified into an experimental group (60 people) and a control group (60 people) for analysis. In addition, in order to validate the analyzed research results, policy factors for the prospect of senile dementia were derived centered on 10 experts in the field of brain science. RESULT The research results are as follows. First, the cognitive function of the elderly before and after neurofeedback training showed high levels of dominance frequency (left p<.01, right p<.05) and alertness(left p<.001, right p<.01), which are the criteria for basic rhythm. Second, physical stress (left p<.001, right p<.001) and mental stress (left p<.001, right p<.001) were high before and after neurofeedback training. Third, brain efficiency before and after neurofeedback training was found to be high only in left-right synchronization (p<.001). CONCLUSION BCI Neurofeedback application training has an effect on the improvement of brain function in the elderly.
