플루서의 매체 이론과 포스트휴머니즘 = Vilem Flusser`s Media Theory and Posthumanism

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to analyze senses and modalities of our transition into the era of digital image by discussing the media philosophy of Vilem Flusser. First, according to Peter Sloterdijk, the essential of Humanism consists in ‘breeding’ the humans through the intermediary of the letter. Therefore, the change of media is intrinsically related to the extinction of Humanism. Second, Vilem Flusser divides the history of the media into three ages: magical imagination, critical writing, technological imagination. He insists that we are entering the third period in about 1980`s. His principal agendas can be formulated and arranged like this: from the linear history to multiple universes; from the critique to the creation; from the interpretation of works to the critique of apparatuses; a new conception of the truth as an aesthetic pragmatism; and from the subject to the project. Finally, we discuss a new humanism that he proposes on the basis of the notion of ‘orders of magnitude’, not (humanistic) quality or (scientific) quantity.
