타이語 未來時制 硏究 = A Study on Thai Future Tense

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this thesis is to study the future tense in Thai language, attempting especially to determine the aspects in future tense, the expression of future tense, and the sentence structure of future tense in Thai language. As for analysis of future tense, transformational generative grammar is used as the model. And the example sentences were collected from everyday conversation of people who use the standard language.
The thesis consists of jour chapter's. The first chapter is an introduction. The second chapter deals with the properties of Thai tenses. The third chapter analyzed the future tense sematically and synactically. The last chapter is a conclusion.
Thai tenses including future tense are expressed by verb in combinaiton with word is of marked aspect, that is, auxiliary verb(s) except in the case of unmarked aspect. Beside the above, time advert or time adverbal phrase is the most important element in Thai tenses.
The thesis shows that the future tense in Thai language is divided into two classes : the future tense with unmarked aspect, and tile future tense with marked aspect. The former has only one type : the factive future. And the latter has seven types. the scheduled future, the prospective future, the volitive future, the predictive future, the volitive future, immediacy of action, the predictive future, immediacy of action, and the prospective future, immediacy of action.
