자원봉사자의 자원봉사영역 선택 행동에 관한 연구 : 사회복지영역과 비사회복지영역 자원봉사자의 비교를 중심으로 = An Exploration of Choice Behavior of Volunteering Target Areas in Korea: A Comparison among Area related to Social Welfare, Area related to Non-social Welfare

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 자원봉사자의 자원봉사영역 선택행동을 탐색하는 연구로서 자원봉사자를 크게 세 범주(사회복지영역에만 자원봉사, 비사회복지영역에만 자원봉사, 두 영역 모두에 자원봉사)로 구분하고, 이 중 비사회복지영역에만 자원봉사 하는 집단을 준거집단으로 하여 자원봉사영역 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 자료는 서울시 복지재단에서 서울시민을 대상으로 실시하는 복지패널 1차와 2차 본조사 자료를 활용하였다. 자원봉사자의 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 인구사회학적 요인, 개인 및 사회에 대한 태도관련 요인, 나눔경험 및 동기관련 요인을 중심으로 살펴보았으며, 분석을 위해서 다항로지스틱회귀분석모형(multinomial logistic regression model)을 사용하였다. 인구사회학적 요인에서는 연령과 종교성이 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 취업유무와 결혼유무, 소득은 제한적인 수준에서 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 개인 및 사회에 대한 태도관련 요인으로는 사회공정성 인식이 유의한 영향을 미치며, 사교성은 제한적인 수준에서 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 나눔경험 및 동기관련 요인은 사회복지영역의 봉사경험과 기부경험이 유의한 영향을 미치며, 비사회복지영역의 봉사경험과 기부경험은 제한적인 수준에서 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 자원봉사동기의 경우 사회복지영역 자원봉사자가 비사회복지영역 자원봉사자에 비해 종교적 신념에 의한 봉사활동이 더 많은 것으로 연구결과 나타났다. 본 연구는 자원봉사자를 동질적 집단으로 가정한 기존 연구의 한계점을 극복하고 보다 세분화된 자원봉사자 집단에 대한 이해를 제고하는데 기여하는 의미를 지닌다. 또한 자원봉사영역 선택에 대한 새로운 지식기반 구축과 자원봉사 관련 연구들에 새로운 방향성을 제시한다는 측면에서 의의를 갖는 연구라 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study attempts to explore the choice behavior of Korean citizens on volunteering target areas. In order to understand such behaviors, this study classifies volunteering areas into three categories (only social welfare area, only non-social welfare area, comprehensive volunteering - volunteering to both areas), and analyzes the factors influencing their choice in volunteering by setting the non-social welfare area volunteering group as a reference group and comparing with it. Using the data from ‘A Seoul Welfare Panel Survey Data’ collected by Seoul Welfare Foundation and the Korea Research in 2008 2010, it examines the effects of citizens demographic factor (age, gender, education, household income, religion, marital status, and occupation), the factor of attitude towards individual and society(self-efficacy, agreeableness, social fairness, support for government responsibility in multiple social areas, the gap between the wealthy and the poor, trust toward social institutions), the factor of motivation and consideration in volunteering giving (volunteering motivation, volunteering giving experience) by employing a multi-nominal logistic regression model. The results show that social-fairness in the attitude factor has statistically significant effect on citizens choice behavior and agreeableness also has statistical significance at a marginal level. In the factor of motivation and consideration in volunteering giving, volunteering giving experience in social welfare area has statistically significant effect on citizens choice behavior and volunteering giving experience in non-social welfare area has statistical significance at a marginal level. Finally, in the factors of motivation, the level of religiosity in social welfare area is higher than the level of religiosity in non-social welfare. As the first study on citizens choice behavior related to volunteering areas in Korea, this study broadens and promotes the understanding on such volunteering behaviors and influential factors. Moreover, it can contribute to setting a new foundation of knowledge for further research in this topic.
