염상섭의 <광분>론 = A Study on Mad Fury(狂奔) of Yeom, Sang-Seop

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 민족적 정체성 회복을 희구하는 염상섭의 서사적 욕망이 <광분>에서 구조화되어 있는 양상을 서사의 인식론적 구조와 정서적 구조의 변증법적 연관 속에서 고찰하고자 했다. 본고에서 논의한 내용은 다음 세 가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 1920년대 중후반 사회 문화적 담론의 장에 ``모던 걸``이 핵심 쟁점으로 부상하게 되는데, <광분>은 당시의 ``모던 걸`` 담론에 대한 서사적 대응의 차원에서 기획된 작품으로서 의미를 갖는다. 둘째, <광분>의 서사는 인식론적 구조의 층위에서 민병천 일가의 ``퇴폐광분``한 삶이 상징하는 ``모던``한 시대상에 대한 윤리적 비판을 통하여 대안적 세계상을 제시하고자 했다. 이 대안적 세계상은 ``양심``, ``인격``, ``도덕적 내심`` 등의 윤리적 가치에 의해 그 의미가 구축된다. 셋째, 정서적 구조의 층위에서 <광분>의 서사는 민족주의 이념과 길항 관계에 놓여 있던 사회주의 이념을 비판하고자 하는 욕망을 간접적으로 드러내고 있다. 이러한 서사적 욕망은 ``모던 걸``에 대하여 작가가 취하고 있는 양가적 태도를 통하여 드러난다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis is focused to examine the way how Yeom Sang Seop`s narrative desire to revive national identity in Mad Fury is revealed in the dialectic relation between a cognitive structure and a emotive structure of text. Issues discussed in this thesis can be summarized as follows. First, Mad Fury has meaning as the work which Yeom Sang Seop designed at the level of narrative response about discourse on ``modern-girl`` which is emerged as key issues for discussion in a field of social and cultural discourses of mid-to late 1920s. Second, Yeom Sang Seop criticize Min Byeongcheon`` family life of the fallen which symbolize of the negative of modern life from an ethical perspective and try to find an alternative at the level of the cognitive structure in Mad Fury`s narrative. The meaning of this alternative world is constructed by ``conscience``, ``personality`` and ``the moral of my heart``. Finally, Mad Fury has a built-in the narrative desire of the criticism of socialist ideology at the level of the emotional structure. Such narrative desire indirectly is revealed by authorial narrator`s ambivalent attitudes of ``modern girl``.
