보어의 상보성과 문화다원주의

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 닐스 보어의 상보성은 실재론, 전체론의 논의를 통해 다원주의 문제를 해결하려 거대한 프로젝트의 한 부분이다. 보어의 상보성은 전통적으로 반실재론자로 해석되어왔지만, 최근에는 보어에 대한 철학자들의 새로운 조명으로 보어에 대한 실재론 논쟁이 많이 있다. 그 이유는 보어의 주장들을 살펴보면, 실재론적인 요소와 검증주의적 요소가 섞여 있기 때문이다. 이 논문에서는 서론에서 양자역학의 형성 역사에 관한 간단한 언급을 하고, 보어에 대한 기존의 실재론-반실재론 논쟁을 비판적으로 검토하여 보어의 상보성을 보다 깊이 이해할 수 있도록 하는 것이 목적이다. 보어에 대한 주요 반실재론적 해석들, 파인, 벨러, 그리고 파이에 등을 비판적으로 평가하고, 그리고 실재론적 해석으로서는 폴스 등을 비판적으로 다루어 보어의 철학이 더 잘 드러나게 한다.
그리고 이 보어의 실재론-반실재론 논쟁과 상보성을 ansghkcjfgkrdp wjrdydgksek. 문화 철학의 중요한 조류인 일원론, 다원주의, 상대주의 중에서 문화다원주의를 옹호하고, 다원주의의 가능성을 보어의 상보성을 가지고 보여주려 했다. 보어의 상보성 철학은 자연을 기술하려는 물리학에서 나온 이론이다. 따라서 보어의 상보성 철학을 문화적 현상에 적용하는 데는 아무런 필연적인 이유는 없다. 상보성은 서로 모순적인 것처럼 보이는 역설적 경험들을 구성주의나 반 실재론적이 아닌 실재론적 입장을 유지하면서 적절히 설명하여 해소 시키려는 철학이다. 이것은 상대주의와 일원론을 피하면서도 실재론적인 문화철학이 되려는 다원주의의 임무와 유사성이 있다. 해석이론에 핵심적인 콰인-데비드슨의 자비의 원리는 서로 모순적인 문화적 전통을 해석하여 하나의 그림으로 포괄하려는 것으로 필자는 해석한다. 다원주의는 진리의 보편성을 믿지만, 여러 문화들은 결코 하나의 그림으로 해석되지 않는다고 보는 것이다. 따라서 다원주의를 받아들이기 위해서는 새로운 해석이론이 필요하다. 필자는 보어의 상보성 철학이 문화다원주의 모델에 기여할 수 있는 지를 살펴본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research is a part of long term research project which deals with the relations between Bohr's complementarity and pluralism through discussing complementarity, realism and holism. Niels Bohr has been traditionally interpreted as an anti-realist. Recently through the new illumination of Bohr, the debates between realist and anti-realist have a wide spectrum about the interpretation of Bohr. The reason is that in Bohr, realistic elements and anti-realistic elements are mixed. in this paper, the debates between realism-antirealism debates about the interpretation of Bohr will be critically analysed so that the complementarity of Bohr may be easily understood. The important interpretations of Bohr, Fine and Beller, Faye and Folse are critically assessed so that Bohr's philosophy can be revealed better.
And I apply the realism -antirealism debate and Bohr's complementarity to the philosophy of culture. I discuss the monism, pluralism, and relativism which are the most important trends in philosophy of culture and I defend the pluralism by showing the possibility of pluralism by using complementarity. The complementarity is from physics describing nature. So, there is no necessary reason to apply the philosophy of complementarity to cultural phenomena. Complementarity is the philosophy which resolves the paradoxical experiences keeping realism against anti-realism and constructivism. This seems similar to the task of pluralism to be realistic philophy of culture. In my view, the principle of charity of Quine-Davidson is to integrate into one picture through interpreting the contradictory cultures. Pluralism accepts truth as universal but does not believe that the various cultures can be interpreted under one culture. Therefore to accept pluralism we need new theory of interpretation. I argue that Bohr's philosophy of complementarity can be a good model for pluralism although it is only introductory level.
