초등학생의 스트레스와 심리적 안녕감: 방어기제들의 역할 = Stress and Psychological Well-being of the Elementary Students: The Role of Defense Mechanisms

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study aims to examine which of defense mechanisms used by elementary students is more effective in practically depending his or her psychological well-being from several stressors. Sixth grade elementary school students participated in the study. The degree of the following five stresses was measured: parents, friends, school work, family, and school-related. The use of four types of defense mechanisms(immature, adaptive, self-restraining, and conflict avoiding) and psychological well-being were additionally measured. Adolescents suffer the most stress related to school, followed by parents and so on. But the parent-related stress did damage most on their psychological well-being. And the use of the three types of defense mechanisms(conflict avoiding, self-restraining, and immature) actually did not defend their psychological well-being from stress. Exceptionally the adaptive defense mechanism played a role of buffer only between school stress and psychological well-being.
