The aim of this paper which is a kind of case study and qualitative research is to get the insight about Debating Contest in Elementary school education. For the purpose, I tried to interpret and describe the meaning of Debating Contest with several data which are collected by having an active interview with teachers, bringing some documents from ``Elementary school Debating Council of S-city(EDCS)`` and conducting a questionnaire survey of school children. ``S-city Elementary Schoolchild Debating Contest``, which is operated under the autonomous study group of teachers, has a significance from the point of view of appraising the debating competence of student and giving a practical experience of debating. Teachers who are members of EDCS feel worth hosting the debating contest. Students who participate in the contest are be contented with practical experience of debating. However there are some problems indicated by teacher as a participant in the process of debating contest. Firstly it would be help only some gifted students. Secondly it can be possible one-sided judgment in the estimation and criterion of debating. Despite these problems, the participants who are teachers and students of debating contest are satisfied with this experience. It has remarkable educational value as a practical debating with being considerate of others` feelings.
