This study shows how the Spiritual Maturity Scale, Religious Orientation, and Ego-Resilience in adolescence affect psychological and social adjustment.
A survey to measure Spiritual Maturity Scale, Intrinsic-Extrinsic Religious Orientation, Ego-Resilience, Stress Coping Style. and K-YSR was given in which 600 students participated in Seoul and Gwangju.
To understand the correlation among the variables, Pearson's coefficient of correlation was used, and to recognize the relation between the variable of psychological, social adjustment, the Spiritual Maturity Scale, Intrinsic-Extrinsic Religious Orientation, and Ego-Resilience, multiple regression analysis was carried out. Also, with the upper and lower 30th percentile of the Spiritual Maturity Scale and Religious Orientation, Ego-Resilience, Two-Way ANOVA, in which psychological and social adjustment are regarded as a dependent variable while considering Spiritual Maturity Scale, Intrinsic-Extrinsic Religious Orientation, Ego-Resilience and background variables such as school, sexuality, and religion as a independent variable, has been put in effect.
Based on the above analyzed results, the study came to the conclusion that the Spiritual Maturity Scale and Intrinsic-Extrinsic Religious Orientation create a positive effect to Interpersonal Relations and Stress Coping Styles in the variables of Psychological, Social Adjustment. However, Ego-Resilience in the variables of Psychological, Social Adjustment has a great influence on the overall adjustment including the behavioral problems of adolescents.
Finally, this study revealed the need of successive research in concurrence with the restrictions of the study.
