서구 영화연기론의 경향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

시중에는 배우의 사생활에 관한 정보가 넘쳐난다. 한편, 영화 연구에서 영화연기는 상대적으로 소홀히 다뤄지거나 경시되어왔다. 그 이유로 영화연기에 대한 학술적인 글쓰기의 어려움이 제시되지만, 영화연기에 관한 일반적인 인식은 거의 모든 학술적 글쓰기에서 간과되었다는 점이다. 대부분의 이론서는 연기를 전체적인 영화 구조의 한 요소로 간단히 소개하고 지나친다. 이것은 서구의 문제만이 아니다. 연기에 관한 인상 담론이 넘쳐나고 관련 교육에의 관심이 유난히 큰 국내의 경우에는 영화연기론 자체가 활성화되지 않고 있다. 이 연구는 국내 영화연기론의 활성화를 위한 문헌 조사의 성격으로 서구에서 진행된 영화연기 연구에 관한 경향을 살펴보고자 했다. 연구의 범위는 미국과 유럽에서 이뤄진 영화연기에 관한 논의에 한정했다. 연구방법은 영화사 초기부터 현대에 이르기까지, 영화연기의 담론에 관한 대표적인 문헌을 선정해 영화연기에 관한 학술 논의가 어떻게 진행되고 있는가를 고찰했다. 이는 영화연기론에 관한 서구의 경향을 통해 국내 영화연기론의 나아갈 방향에 도움이 되고자 하는 것이며, 또한 애니메이션·게임을 비롯한 기술 영상의 연기론 구축 및 연기 테크놀로지의 개발에 기여하고자 하는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Whether they are professional or not, everyone evaluate films in the eyes of experts. In particular, the audiences classify into grade on the actor’s acting. Film stars are often the target of scorn and worship. There is flooded with information about the personal lives of the actors. Nevertheless, the film acting in film studies has been relatively neglected or ignored. For that reason, the difficulty of scholarly writing about the film acting was presented, but the general awareness about it was overlooked in almost every academic writing. Most of academic writings briefly introduce and hurriedly conclude film acting as an element of the film structure as a whole. This is not just a problem of the West. While the impressive discourses on acting are flooded and the interest of the relevant education is exceptionally high, the domestic acting studies on film has not activated. This study explores the trends in film acting studies conducted in the West in order to activate the domestic studies. The scope of this study is limited to the discussion carried out at the United States and Europe. Research methods select the representative literatures on the discourse of film acting ranging from initial studios to modern and investigate how academic discussion of the film acting. This is to present the future direction in the country over the Western tendency on film acting studies.
