『겐지모노가타리』의 현대적 변용 양상 고찰 = 다나베 세이코의 『신 겐지모노가타리』를 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Shin Genji Monogatari is the best seller among the adapted pieces of Genji Monogatary which were put into printing after modern times, not including comics. It set a phenomenal record of 2.5million which is the accumulated number of sold copies in the 2000’s pocket edition. This piece can be evaluated as a leading work of Genji Monogatary among the modern language translations after 1980’s. As we can know from the outstanding number of sold copies, it is worthy of notice that Shin Genji Monogatary has provided a way for modern people to approach to classic literature without feeling a sense of incompatibility and it has done a role of leading the modern “Genji Culture”.
New Tale of Genji of Seiko Tanabe conveys modern readers old literary works vividly through Working to make good a deficiency of expression in Tale of Genji. Specifically, New Tale of Genji constitute a scene by changing Waca to a conversation or text in Tale of Genji. Also, when a man and a woman is being together, specific sexual description and characters feeling are not expressed. Through this work, flat characters are born again to round characters. It can be shown that the writer Tanabe who has various winning records such as Akutagawa Prize has put all his efforts to interpret the essence of Japanese classic literature, Tale of Genji. in a new perspective and suggest it to modern people. In other words, New Tale of Genji was reinvented by author, Seiko Tanabe with modern sense.
