욘 포세 Jon Fosse 희곡의 등장인물 유형에 관한 연구

This study analyzes the type of characters in the drama of Jon Fosse (b. 1959), a Norwegian author who has drawn attention from the European theater with his unique language since the 1990s. Fosses drama places all characters that are in the closest relationships with each other such as family, lovers, or friends in a limited space, which can be identified as closed text or private text. He uses such structures through most of his dramas that deal with people who are in the closest relationships with each other in their lives as he focuses on describing human relationships rather than a mentality.
This study focuses on examining what types of characters he creates and places in his drama to describe their relationships. Characters in his different dramas have some common features in their personalities and behaviors which can be categorized as an isolated character, an absentee, and a visitor. This study deals with several dramas for analysis including some stories of families <The Name>, <Visits>, <The girl on the sofa>, and stories of lovers <Someone is going to come>, <Dream of Autumn>, <A Summers day>, <Winter>.
Fosses drama deals with the issue of human existence in different ways from those of authors including Samuel Beckett, Herold Pinter, or Bernard-Marie Koltes. This study helps understand the features of Fosses dramas that depict his main themes of complexities of life and inexplicability of life in his private text by exploring the composition of types of characters in their close human relationships.
