In general, it is said that the higher a country's economic development and GNP, the more demands for up-style that is definite proportion to cultural development.
Korean traditional up-style refers to jjok-meo-ri, wi-ro-ol-lim-meori, jung-gan-kyup-chi-meori, braid hair, twisted hair and coiled hair so its categories are simple. Most of styles are for the up-style for Korean costume Hanbok. It seems elegant and decent but matured and uncomfortable to action, for which the young generation tends to avoid.
The study specifically aims to look into how shape features, e.g. chignon's upwards, downwards, midwards, symmetry and dissymmetry, are changing as hair line changes and, with documents and books, to look into how Japan's basic up-style is changing by face shape and hair richness based analyses on various data and photos. Given the outcome from this, the study aims not only to categorize fusion up-styles in the current fashion in Korea by theme, i.e. locations of stress type, oversized type, symmetric and dissymmetric type, to present but also to develop efficient methods used at practices. While such study aims were achieved, the study furthers to develop fusion up-style by reproducing theme up-styles with motives Japan's up-style as well as basic types of modem up-style. Practices by hair style changes and reproduction is expected to be used as basic data for development of up-styling techniques and designs.
The thesis compared and analyzed changes of up-styles by hair texture conditions, its modeling effect and change factor of modeling design of modem event up-styles by themes, which is to be reflected to modem salon up-style's trend to develop the up-style that is simple, speedy and easy.
The result to have done with location of stress style, symmetric and dissymmetric style to present modem up-style is as follows.
Firstly, as a result of model changes by texture conditions, it was found that upward chignon expresses cute, sexy and elegant; midward expresses balanced, organized, matured and kind; downward expresses oriental, natural and feminine; symmetric expresses diverse characteristics and simple & cool; and dissymmetric expresses lively. Secondly, the result from design changes by themes suggests that event nature and individual condition is to be well understood to decide design in today's fashion, looking young and simple.
Given the result from practices, the thesis intended to integrate speedy, modem up-style with reproduced theme up-styles. Practices and reproduction by hair style changes are expected to be used for basic data for development of us techniques and designs and are believed to need more following studies.
