      The purpose of this study is to develop a theme-integrated literature program for 5 year old children and find out its effect on children's story comprehension and story construction.<br/>
      in order to develop theme-integrated literature program, its objectives, contents, teaching methods and materials, and evaluation were searched and established.<br/>
      The subject are 62 five year old children from middle class families(27 boys, 34 girls) of H kindergarten which is located in Chunan.<br/>
      The children participated in pre-test, theme-integrated literature activities and post-test. The theme-integrated literature program lasted 8 weeks. The children were interviewed for story comprehension and the answers were marked by using Rand(1991)'s tool. Also they wrote a story based on 4 pictures from a storybook. The story was classified by Knipping(1987)'s tool. The data were analyzed by t-test.<br/>
      The children who participated in theme-integrated literature program showed an effective result to facilitate high level story construction: the concept of story coherence and narrative form. Children's story comprehension scores were significantly raised.
