The purpose of this study is to examine the problems occurring in the export and import process and customs clearance by comparing with process of Trade and Customs Clearance through the review of Business Process Analysis released by United Nations. The result revealed that unnecessary documents and lengthy processes for export licenses, export declaration and berthing permits needed to be improved in export process while process for import licenses along with import recommendation and delivery order are considered problematic and required to improve. The elimination or simplification of unnecessary documents and process for export and import such as issuance of licenses and the improvement for efficient process such as EDI or Uni-Pass in Korea for handling documents and process are recommended.
