In this study, the experimental building model was established and imported into the fire simulation software (Thunderhead Engineering PyroSim, Pyrosim). The Pyrosim software was used to simulate the fire caused by improper use of electrical appliances in the experimental building. The changes of smoke spread, visibility, temperature and carbon monoxide concentration during fire development were studied. The results show that in the process of fire development, the temperature, visibility and CO concentration in the burning room reach the critical value within 100 s, and the personnel in the burning room and other floors to be evacuated should take timely protective measures and evacuate to the outside of the building through the safety stairs. According to the simulation results, the corresponding conclusions and suggestions for improvement are drawn in order to provide reference for the fire rescue of experimental buildingSuggestions to improve the safety performance of laboratory buildings.
