현대시의 아이러니와 화자 = A Study of Poetic Speaker and Irony in Korean Modern Poetry

Irony is not only a poetic rhetoric, but is one artistic attitude. Not existing the absolute pointing value for universal world, the split between subjective and objective, the experience between them is revealed by irony-aethic attitude. And this is the standpoint of this article which is the way of the modern poetry existing way. At this point, in this article shows the effect and the way of irony by two poets' poetry.
'Snow' by Kin Soo Young exists two characters. In most poetry, the lyrical self is the speaker itself, but in this poem, the two are seperated. In this poem, the irony is made by showing its opposite attitude between the empirical speaker and generalized lyrical self. Because there is no truth in both the reality and the ideality through these, he doesn't need to absolutize the things. And pointing out that seeing the world tightly and keep tension is the way of the writing poetry which is the way of revealing the dark and pretense of the world.
'Some day I'll sit at dark tavern' by Whang Jee Woo shows two seperated speakers. In this poem, the speaker is one character, but shows two different voice in attitude and tone. The poet says that two different voice in one poem can be a truth, but also a truth in ironical confrontation and tension is life.
As so, irony is not an attitude that admit and unified theory and reduce to an only one value, but an attitude to set the things relatively and to make the distance. And as shown by this article, this making distance is shown chiefly by the poetic speaker's existing way.
