(An) Empirical Analysis on Determinants Affecting Venture Performance : Focus on Hi-tech Enterprises in Shenzhen Incubator

Entrepreneurial activities conducive to innovation, enhance competitiveness, create employment opportunities, and help to promote economic development. In recent decades, entrepreneurship has become a hot topic worldwide, more and more experts and scholars thus began to study the phenomenon of entrepreneurship. Shenzhen, one of the four Special Economic Zones in China, is a metropolitan hub linking Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Macau. Shenzhen is also a dreamland for companies such as Tencent, Huawei, and Lenovo, in where they developed from small companies to giants in their respective industries. There are a lot of start-up companies worldwide, but only few of them are able to survive. This phenomenon draws the most researchers to find the answer to the question: What are the crucial points for entrepreneurial success? Scholars have been working on it for several decades. This thesis seeks to identify the determinants that influence the performance of high-tech new ventures. As a total of 128 hi-tech companies in Shenzhen incubator were selected for the survey and SPSS v21 was then used to study results at firm-level of empirical analysis.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

근년에 창업은 전 세계에 큰 화제를 형성하고 있고 많은 연구자들이 이 과제에 대한 연구하고 있다. 창업은 경쟁력 강화, 일자리 창출수단일 뿐만 아니라 경제성장도 촉진시키는 특성을 가지고 있다. 특히 첨단 기술 혹은 신 성장 동력 분야의 국가경쟁력에서 큰 역할을 차지하고 있다. 선전은 중국의 하나의 특구이고 홍콩에 가까운 지리로 인해 양호한 창업분위기를 형성하게 된다. 텅쉰(Tencent), 화웨이(Huawei)은 선전에서 흥륭한 회사로 발전하게 된다. 창업기업은 많은데 생존하거나 성공할 수 있는 기업은 그렇게 많지 않다. 이 논문에서는 기업의 창업행위 요인은 기업창업성과에 영향을 밝힌다. 이 논문에서는 선전(Shenzhen) 인큐베이터(incubator)에 있는 첨단기술창업기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 128부 설문지 표본으로 SPSS v21.0 package을 이용하여 요인분석 신뢰도분석 회귀분석을 통해서 검증을 실시하였다. 창업행위 요인들은 기업창업성과에 유의적인 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것을 나타났고 정부와 정부정책을 조정변수로 회귀 식에 들어가서 guanxi 또 자금(Finance)은 기업창업성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
