불교음악의 연구사와 당면 과제 = A study on history of Buddhist music and its present mission focusing on establishing educational institute of Beompae

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

For the present situation of Korea Buddhism, studies on the Budhist music are insufficient to be compared with the studies of Buddhism and relevant subjects. Measures should be taken such as; firstly, establish educational institute to train talented persons who can transmit the Buddhist music. Secondly, educators should be trained to be able to teach Buddhist music and dance. Thirdly, public performance hall and laboratories should be established to perform, preserve, and transmit the art. Fourthly, establishment of Buddhist ritual museum, and Buddhist culture experience center where the Buddhist music and dances can be educated and performed. Fifthly, propagation and publication of Buddhism, Buddhist music, dance, ballads through on-the-stage performances. Sixthly, preparation of traditional arts onto disks, videos, records, and musical notes. Seventhly, cultural exchange between other Buddhist countries, especially for the Buddhist music. Finally, noting the Beompae to transmit the tradition of Buddhist rituals. To achieve all these goals, such environments as raising funds and supporting Buddhist art specialists in unification all over the religious sects should be established. To revive and transmit the Buddhist music is not only a religious task but our national present mission.
