The world urbanization, which is provoked by the emergence of new world financial system, basically contains the features from global concentration, world city strategy, and time space convergence by the telecommunication development. These trends are concretely reflected into urban space in the form restructuring. Thus, we need to explain the future metropolis by the new approach, so called, global paradigm. This study focuses on the world city strategy and urban restructuring process in the city of Fukuoka, Japan, especially of the Canal City Hakada, as a case study of urban renovation as well as Seaside Momochi as a case study of implementation plan. Apparently, there are big differences between the Japanese cities and western cities in terms of world city strategies.
