The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the child rearing attitudes of parents and the social development of their children and to examine the sex difference in those relationship.
The subjects were 60 5-year-old children and their parents.
The instruments for this study were the Diagnostic Examination of the Relationship between Parents and Children for Parent by Oh(1965), and the Examination of Social Maturity by Kim and Kim(1985). The data were analyzed with ANOVA.
The results showed that the correlation between the type of parents' rearing attitudes and the children's social development was not statistically significant and that there were no difference in the social development between boys and girls.
