This is a treatise which is studying Time and Space's Imagery on the moden poetry of the Korea in 1920.
From the several facets revealed by Time and Space's Imagery, I could extract the thought and emotion which the writer in-tended to express, and found the result like the following.
So-Wal and Man-Hae represented the time-consciousness which is not the same each other on Imagery of Time.
In case of So-Wal, the narrator of poetry depicts the inconsistency feeling the uneasiness and the nostalgia, in the endless uncertainty, between the past time and the future time. Namely, he finds a compensation of desire and frustration which is not satisfied in the real world, in the unrealistic imaginary world (=dream).
In Man-Hae's case, it shows the time-consciousness being contrary to So-Wal. The narrator transcends an actuality-cognition by time's reversibility. Man-Hae's poetry attains the motif which is expressed in it's surface of structure from natural circling time. It is noticable that this motif is used by a poetry's equipment clearing the narrator's statement.
Then, So-wal and Ko wal have a similar aspect on Imagery of Space.
In case of so-wal, it is notable that the space of the narrator's being has the closeness. So the narrator feels a choking sensation. The narrator who wants to escape from the unsatisfied space, climbs the top of a mountain. And he shows a disagreement in that place. It is able to say the narrator's duality that the discoved and the action of looking down on in a mountain's top.
Ko-Wal's space-consciousness like So-Wal, shows the space of residence into the negative imagery. The narrator entering on Ko-Wal's poetry, like So-Wal, yearns for the free sky and the sea rather than climbing the 'hill'. But the narrator doesn't stay there, because this space is not realistic. In some of poetry which is announced before the Ko-Wal's death, the narrator space becomes to be reduced suddenly, he dosn't open this closed space to the last.
As mentioned above, Time and Space's Imagery to be a reflection of the periodic discrepancy which writers are aware of. Also, that can be a representation of limitation which a colonial people have to only, a human's mental compensation, frustration and sadness.
