영화 포스터에 표현된 미니멀리즘 디자인에 관한 연구 －한국 영화 포스터를 중심으로－ = A Study on the Minimalist Design expressed in the Movie Posters －Focusing on Korean Movie Posters－

This study analyzed the characteristics and importance of minimalist design in Korean movie posters. Minimalism is characterized by simplicity and abstraction, and has been used in various art fields since the industrialization era of the 1950s, and is also applied to poster design along with the rapid growth of the Korean film industry. The study examined the visual elements and expression methods of minimalist design through case analysis and inductive methods by period, genre, and element, and evaluated their strengths and weaknesses. Minimalist design contributes to effectively delivering movie messages and highlighting identity with concise and intense visuals, but there are limitations in that information delivery may be limited due to excessive simplification and it is difficult to apply to specific genres. This study suggested digital technology convergence, storytelling reinforcement, and an eco-friendly approach as the direction of the development of Korean film poster design, and discussed the possibility of enhancing the competitiveness of the Korean film industry through this.
