Klaus Schwab, the executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, introduced the term, “The Fourth Wave of the Industrial Revolution.” Schwab argues that the size, speed and scope of these historic changes were brought up by the “unlimited possibilities” of connectivity by mobile devices and the convergent “emerging technology breakthroughs,” Structured data in the digital humanities has been given “the explicit formal properties” based upon the “secondary organizing principle” of encoding. Since the 1960’s, computer processing of textual data in textual and literary field has expanded enormously in intersection with digital technology in the forms of electronic texts.
In this context, we humanists encounter the vortex of inbound authenticity and outbound hybridization in the big data of the literatures and cultures of the world. This dynamic vortex when gathered and seen from the perspective of the structured data will construct the translational space of world literature. The objective of this paper is to view distantly some fragments of the literary texts and social media in the form of structured data in the convergent period of the digital humanities and world literature.
