논문분석을 통한 유아평가 방법 탐색 = Exploration of reasonable child assessment system through literature review

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to explore research trends in child assessment system, to examine problems that were arose in process of child assessment, and to find out reasonable and realistic implications in child assessment system. Literature reviews were proceeded in 16 research papers regarding child assessment published in 5 major academic Korean journals relating early childhood education from 2007 to 2014. The findings of this study were revealed that 1) there were more numbers of quantitative research studies conducted than qualitative studies in child assessment research; 2) those qualitative research studies were mainly based on participant observation/interview/review of collected documentations, whereas the quantitative research studies were mostly conducted their analysis through t test or F test. There were relatively high frequency in the purpose of child assessment in regard to understanding of child development and also in the assessment results used for improving teachers’ teaching strategies. Nevertheless, several problematic issues in child assessment studies were also identified in this literature view: such as, unsystematic data collection, insufficient analysis of collected data, and inefficient connection between assessment and teachers’ later instruction and planning. Specific guidance for teachers in regard to strategic observation in child assessment, and annual plans for systematic assessment and education were suggested for the future discussion and research.
