사상체질별 유아들의 행동특성에 관한 질적 분석 = Qualitative Analysis of Behavior Trait of Young Children according to Sasang Constitutional Types

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사상체질이란 인간의 체질을 태양인, 태음인, 소음인, 소양인의 네 형태로 분류해 놓은 것이다. 본 연구는 사상체질별 유아들의 행동특성은 어떠한지를 살펴보고 이를 부모와 교사들에게 소개하여 각 유아의 체질적 특성에 대한 이해를 넓혀 이를 교육에 적용하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 연구결과 사상체질별 유아들의 행동은 각 체질간 뚜렷한 차이를 보였으며 이러한 차이들은 이제마가 제시한 사상체질별 특성과 거의 일치하였다. 그러므로 연구자는 유아 각자의 고유한 특징인 사상체질을 교육에 적용하기 위한 시사점을 모색해 보았으며 이것은 새로운 방법의 교육접근으로서 그 의의를 가진다고 볼 수 있다.

Sasang constitutional medicine is the Korean traditional medicine which has been originated by Lee, Je-Ma in 1894 with 「Dongyi Soose Bowon」 . It classifies human being into four types ; Taeyangin Taeumin, Soyangin and Soeumin.
The purpose of this study was to elucidate constitutional characteristics by investigating the differences of behavior trait in outside play of young children in order to apply Sasang constitutional types to early childhood education.
The subjects for this study were set as 3 boys and 3 girls at the P national child care center, who were classified by oriental medical doctors who majored in Sasang constitutional medicine. Child's behavior trait in outside play were qualitatively estimated by observation and interviews.
Taeumin positively attended the cooperative and associative plays, while Soeumin passively joined the play or played alone. Soyangin showed interests in surrounding environment, frequently changed the sort of plays, and often used aggressive language. On the other hand, we examined outside play cases according to Sasang constitutional types. As the results, Taeumin showed the characteristics of concentration leadership, less talks, less sweat and less angry. Soeumin did not attend play without partner and showed an indifferent attitude.
These results suggest that understanding constitutional characteristics according to Sasang constitutional types provides new insights into the education and care of young children suitable to one's constitution.
