학생수 감소에 따른 학교 재배치에 대한 연구: 서울시 초등학교 사례를 중심으로 = A Study on the Relocation of Schools due to the Decrease in the Number of Students: Focusing on the Cases of Elementary Schools in Seoul

In this study, theoretical considerations show that schools play an important role in the region. In terms of housing options, schools ranked important, and the region was reborn according to the school's role in urban regeneration projects, indicating that schools were a means of increasing the sustainability of the region. Also, from the perspective of students, the school zone was confirmed to be the same scope as the neighborhood zone in terms of law and reality, and elementary schools should be located at the center of the neighborhood zone, so that they could function as a school for a long time.
In addition, through a case study, the following measures were derived to relocate elementary schools in the S area of Seoul, where the number of students is decreasing. In order to prepare a plan for relocation of schools, first, the change in the number of students and classes in the mid- to long-term for at least 30 years shall be investigated and analyzed for each school in the area. And the government plans to predict the increase or decrease in the number of students in the future through changes in the birth rate and urban readjustment projects, and devise consolidation and separation of under-schools and over-schools. Second, the location of schools in the school district is divided into central, middle, and outer types, and the actual maximum distance and maximum radius of school district are measured for each school, comparing the ratio with urban planning regulations. Third, the school layout grid model derived in consideration of regional density, school size, and topography is used to identify and classify schools subject to relocation and consolidation within the region.
