희생양 메커니즘의 영화와 희생제의로서의 영화체험 -<똥파리>와 <피에타>를 중심으로 = The Movie of Sacrifical Mechanism and Movie Experience as Sacrifice: On Breathless and Pieta

The objective of this text is to reveal the sacrificial characteristics and its meaning within <Breathless> and <Pieta> supported by domestic and overseas critics. The protagonists at the end of these movies face death or take their own lives. Superficially, their death corresponds to the epic ``judgement`` and has its own principle of causality. Their agony and misfortunes which occur in their private lives or family history can be expressed as a tragedy. But in the perspective of the public, their deaths subtly identify the dark-side structure of the discontent within the Korean society. The Korean Capitalist system which is facing a crisis, as a result finds evidence that they are victims of the vicious ``pariah capitalism`` cycle. Hereby, this text complies with Rene Girard`s ``sacrificial mechanism`` to solve the sacrificial crisis of the community by attempting to investigate the victim`s general nature and other characteristics. The audience consciously and subconsciously participated in the arranged ``sacrifice substitution`` progress of the two protagonists as victims. First, paradoxical mixture of pleasant and unpleasant emotion can be felt. Also, to intertwine the internal conflicts, the situation narrates the course of the death and furthermore allow us to feel the ethical consciousness towards their death.
